Ok, technically it's running woman, but I did get back on the treadmill today. Not a completely epic fail today, but not a completely epic win either. I read over my old blog posts last night when I was prepping for the PFT. Made me think that maybe I can do this again. I did a plank last night before I went to bed and woke up with this HORRIBLE pain in my stomach. I couldn't tell if it was because I was hungry or because of the workout.
Workout:
- Walk 2 minutes
- Run 5 minutes @ 5.5
- Walk 2 minutes
- Run 5 minutes @ 5.3
- Walk 2 minutes
- Run 1 minute @ 6.0/Walk 1 minute
- 36ish sit-ups, 40 crunches front, 20 crunches (each side), plank ~ 1 minute, 3 sets of 10 curls w/ 15 lb weights
Do:
- Smoothie for breakfast
- Ate my proper lunch
- Hit the gym and didn't quit on the treadmill even though I wanted to
Do Not:
- Slowed down on the treadmill for the second part of the run
- Had a bag of Famous Amos cookies :( (LL: I need to bring two snacks for the afternoon)
- Had some Dove chocolate...it's Leap Year! It only comes around once every 4 years!
I don't think I'm going to get to work out tomorrow due to actually going out with some friends. I'll bring my stuff just in case, but I doubt it will happen. I'm not going to quit, but I just don't see how this is ever going to work out
I will do better...on Friday

Day 2: Fishy!
Back to the pool today! I do love swimming. Let's see if I can keep this up.
Workout:
- 25 laps ~30 minutes
Do:
- Swimming!
- Didn't eat the snacks I brought with me
- Had my smoothie for breakfast
- Renewed my Wallops gym pass
Do Not:
- Epic fail for lunch! I left out the lunch I made and it needed to be put in the fridge; it was probably ok, but I don't trust chicken anyway; I had soda and a brownie with my grilled cheese and fries
Things I learned: I apparently don't like working out at the "Y" other than to swim. Too many people I guess. Tickets for Florida are bought, so I really need to stick with this now or be forever mocked by my old squadron
Tomorrow, I will do better!

Day 1: Yoda was right (Week 1)
You know how they talk about the freshman 15? Well, the same thing applies when you move to a new location. Since mid-April, I've put on 30 lbs. And I was already 20 lbs overweight. It's absolutely my own fault. I have NOTHING standing in the way of me and losing weight...especially not anymore. I've got to get this back under control, so here begins my journey. Most of my friends are having or have recently had babies, so they post their 9 months journey on facebook. Well, I'm thinking about doing the same thing, except on this seculded corner of the Internet and the goal is to get smaller and smaller instead of bigger and bigger. So, here begins my yet another journey to weight loss. I have a plan. I just need to stick to the plan. I want to lose 50 lbs in 9 months, which, unfortunately means I finish this thing right after Thanksgiving, but right before Christmas. Maybe by then, I'll have established some new habits.
But back to Yoda. He was right. With something like weight loss, you either committ to it or you don't. So, as I go through this journey, I'm going to chronicle the things I've done well ("do") and the things that I need to improve ("do not").
Stats:
Weight: 201.6 (how the heck did that happen :( )
Waist: 39.75
Do:
- Had only my smoothie for breakfast
- Didn't eat any of the snacks I brought today
- Went to the gym even though I was very tired
- Can still do enough sit-ups to pass the AF Fitness test
- Did not get soda for lunch today
Do Not:
- Had Subway for lunch which included the 12 in meatball sub, chips and a cookie
- Only spent 5 minutes on the treadmill (probably because of lunch)
- Had Golden Grahms for dinner instead of eggs (plus side: the box is finished)
Tomorrow, I will do better.
